Committees of Berkshire Creative
CREATIVE MARKETPLACE
The Berkshire Creative Marketplace is working to knit together and promote what is already here: individual artists and arts institutions, large and small creative enterprises. Marketing the Berkshire’s creative culture and products to the world is a focus of this work, both to increase the customer base inside and outside the region, as well as to attract and retain new and younger residents, businesses and creative workers.
BERKSHIRE FILM AND MEDIA ARTS COMMISSION
This grassroots initiative had already mobilized nearly 100 film and media arts professionals when its organizers accepted an invitation to become a working group of Berkshire Creative. Collaboration between the two is intended to strengthen the movement to establish a Film and Media Arts Commission in the Berkshires. http://berkshirefilm.com/http://berkshirefilm.comshapeimage_2_link_0
ANGEL NETWORK
Berkshire Creative is also working closely with the Berkshire Economic Development Corporation on creative economy initiatives that dovetail with key areas of the Berkshire Blueprint. These projects include the Angel Network, which works to connect aspiring entrepreneurs with individuals looking to invest in new and innovative start-up businesses.

EDUCATION
The “creative work initiative” group will brand "Campus Berkshire,"  as an educationally rich region for creative life-long-learning for residents and visitors. The education working group will work collaboratively with organizations to enhance the relationships between the creative economy (artists, cultural institutions and businesses) and students in the county’s K-12 public schools. In addition, it will undertake efforts to give Berkshire County residents a better understanding of the diversity of jobs and careers that exist within the creative economy.
Check back often.
Check back here to see what the committees are up to, We’ll be building out the site over the months ahead and each Committee will have it’s own area to report on progress, ask for help and post schedule items.

BERKSHIRE DESIGN SHOWCASE
The Design Showcase team is working to create a single space/facility to house design-related artist and small firms in a centralized location. The facility would allow new and emerging designers, as well as those more established, to share the costs of space, facilitate trade and raise the profile of Berkshire-based design. DESIGN IT HERE, MAKE IT HERE
A project designed to connect designers and innovators with Berkshire-based manufacturers interested in producing creative products. In addition to offering local designers access to local production, this collaboration would bring new business to some of the many plastics, metal, fabrics, wood and printing businesses already operating in the Berkshires and would establish the county as a producer of creative products. BERKSHIRE BIENNIAL
The Berkshire Biennial is a countywide celebration of the visual and performing arts planned for the summer and fall of 2009. The multi-dimensional event will will engage local and visiting artists and curators and incorporate a wide range of Berkshire institutions.
