North Adams Historical Society

PROGRAM

www.northadamshistory.org

The North Adams Historical Society has 25 permanent exhibits (farming, education, immigration, industry, military, politics, railroads…) and a temporary gallery devoted to the history of the Northern Berkshires and the flora and fauna in the region. The connection between water power (mountains and rivers) and the development of industry is highlighted. Docents guide groups through three floors including the Barracks Room from Fort Massachusetts (1746 siege) and the Black Light Gallery (our place in the universe – items from Sprague Electric are on the moon).
